Our Resident DJs provide the soundtrack to Taiyou Con! Throughout the weekend, they keep the convention atmosphere going with background music across the event, bringing energy to the space while you explore, shop, meet guests, and hang out with friends. As returning members of the Taiyou Con experience each year, our special Resident DJs help set the vibe from start to finish.

Lady Gunpla
Resident DJLady Gunpla (aka Arietta) is the convention alter ego of Arizona DJ and producer Arietta, who has spent nearly two decades behind the decks with a career rooted in drum & bass, live performance, and a deep love of music across genres. Arietta has toured throughout the U.S. and internationally, hosted the long-running BASS Movement radio show, founded BMVNT, and won Hospital Records’ inaugural Women in Drum & Bass DJ Competition. Her production work blends electronic music with the musicianship and melodic influences that have shaped her throughout her career, culminating in the release of her debut full-length album, Rising, in 2026. At anime and pop-culture conventions, that musical background takes a slightly different form. Performing as Lady Gunpla, she’s become known around the Arizona convention circuit for high-energy K-pop remix sets alongside anime, J-pop, and bass-heavy electronic selections. She has performed at conventions throughout the state and has returned to TaiyouCon for several years. Lady Gunpla gives Arietta an excuse to put all of those worlds in one set: K-pop, anime, electronic music, and whatever else is going to make the room go off. Mesa Community College DJs
Taiyou Con is proud to officially be part of the Mesa Community College DJ program and curriculum, giving students the opportunity to put their skills into practice in a live event environment. While you'll see our Resident DJs return year after year, the MCC DJ lineup changes as new students take the stage, bringing fresh local talent and a new sound to the background music of Taiyou Con each year.
