Every year is a new adventure for Taiyou Con! Before the guests arrive and the music fills the halls, the mascots of Taiyou Con are already in motion. Sunny and her friends are testing setups, tying down signage, and keeping the con spirit alive behind the scenes.
They’re more than just cute faces and photo ops. Sunny, Ash, and the rest of the crew aka The Sun Squad bring their personalities, chaos, and commitment to every corner of the event. Their friendship and occasional friendly rivalry gives Taiyou Con its spark. Year after year, no matter the theme, they’re part of what makes the magic stick.
Sometimes that energy is a lot of hype and hard work. But other times… it taps into something deeper. Each year, something new unfolds alongside the con’s celebrations and only time will tell.
This time, it starts with sudden invasion from another dimension as the preparation starts and a strange feeling buried under the Arizona desert.

🌟 Sunny – The Main Character
Backstory: Lead mascot; mother and father mysteriously vanished after a flash of light from the sky
Likes: Cosplay, ramen, boba, dessert reviews, night planning sessions
Dislikes: Being underestimated, wasted time, threats to the crew
Abilities: Can master any weapon and skill in a short time
Motivation: Grow Taiyou Con, protect the team, investigate her parent’s disappearance

🎭 Ash – The Charismatic Strategist
Backstory: Reconstructed himself from awkwardness to charisma commander
Likes: K-Pop choreo, salmon sashimi, event planning
Dislikes: Sloppy execution, assumptions of ease, mirrors
Abilities: Faster than normal speed; dancing
Motivation: Make Sunny’s vision shine; prove his reinvention

🍀 Honoka – The Wild Card
Backstory: Youngest in a perfect family; chaos queen powered by luck
Likes: Dango, BBQ, betting, sports flicks
Dislikes: Routines, being “just lucky,” sibling group chats
Abilities: Luck Field—bends fate around her but unstable under stress
Motivation: Figure out if she’s more than her luck

🪐 Leon – The Cosmic Trickster
Backstory: Banished galactic prince; ditched “observe Earth” punishment orders for dumplings and cosplay
Likes: Pranks, karaoke, dumplings, breaking protocol
Dislikes: Reporting updates to the empire, his siblings’ galactic conquests
Abilities: The power to heal wounds on himself and other people
Motivation: Build a new identity apart from his legacy & keeping his old one a secret

🌸 Sakura – The Quiet Bloom
Backstory: Lived above bookstore café and that’s why she reads a lot of manga
Likes: Manga cafés, milk tea, spy thrillers, quiet spaces
Dislikes: Loud crowds, interruptions, assumptions of weakness
Abilities: Passive invisibility and quietness
Motivation: Getting involved with more people; secret crush on Ash
Theme: Soft strength and cuteness
💪 Kenji – The Unstoppable Ace
Backstory: Naturally gifted; seeking deeper purpose beyond numerous victories in sports
Likes: All sports, udon, friendly competition
Dislikes: Sitting still, emotional convos, losing jokes
Abilities: Peak human strength & agility
Motivation: Find out the meaning of strength and the meaning of winning
Theme: Overcoming obstacles to obtain success
🐾 Luna – The Voice of Joy
Backstory: Sunny’s talking corgi
Likes: Yakitori, karaage, sweet fries, being carried royalty-style
Dislikes: Rain, alarms, people ignoring her wisdom
Abilities: Witty dog that can talk
Motivation: Food and relaxation
Theme: Corgi’s are so cute
🌐 Solar – The Observer Out of Time
Backstory: Found in Taiyou Con storage; origins unknown; no memory before activation
Likes: Precision, floating silently, weird warehouse lore, Luna
Dislikes: Paying for food, illogical human behavior
Abilities: Very high technical intelligence and advance technology; can fly a short distance
Motivation: Upgrades convention equipment; find a way to restore his memory
Theme: Learning humanity through having friends
