Hello, K-Pop lovers of Arizona! We are so excited to welcome the talented members of our community to showcase their talents in our K-Pop Dance Competition. To ensure a fun and safe event for competitors, con attendees, and festival guests alike, please review the official rules prior to submitting an application. We cannot wait to see the energy you bring to the stage! Fighting!

📅 When: Saturday, January 24, 2026 @ 3pm. Check-in is 30 minutes prior to the competition.

📍 Where: Outdoor K-Pop Stage & Food Truck Area

Equipment Details:

24ft wide x 12ft deep stage and professional sound system provided.

Important Info for Contestants:

All competitors must hold an attendance badge for Taiyou Con 2026, either for the entire weekend OR for Saturday, January 24th. Failure to purchase a badge forfeits eligibility. Badge status will be confirmed prior to the date of the competition.

Solo competitors as well as groups of up to 13 people are welcome to perform. If there is a change in number of competitors, please notify the competition organizer. This will not affect your eligibility to perform.

One person is eligible to compete ONCE either with a group or as a soloist.

Song Choice: Song choice will be subject to review and subsequent approval or denial by Taiyou Con Staff. Taiyou is a family-friendly convention, and all songs must be free of explicit language and/or mature themes. If Taiyou Con staff deems your song choice inappropriate for any reason, you will be asked to submit an alternate choice.

Mash-ups of multiple songs ARE allowed. You must provide a link to your mashup in your application form.

Song Duration: All competitors will be given 90 seconds to perform. You must either submit a 90 second audio, OR submit the time stamps of your selected song in your application. You may choose to use less than the allotted 90 seconds.

All clothing and props must adhere to Taiyou Con regulations. Please feel free to reach out to the competition organizer if you are uncertain about an outfit or prop.

Friends & Family:

The stage and food truck area are open to the public (no badge needed) so people can come watch the competition and get some food. A badge is required to enter other convention areas which can be purchased online or on site.

Judging Criteria:

Competitors will be judged on the following categories:
- Costuming/Theme
- Execution
- Stage Presence

Prizes:

1st Place: $75 Amazon Gift Card + Bundle Badge for Taiyou Con 2027.
2nd Place: $50 Amazon Gift Card + Regular Weekend Badge for 2027.
3rd Place: $25 Amazon Gift Card + Day Badge for any day in 2027.

*An additional prize will be awarded to Audience Favorite, voted upon by audience participation on the day of the event.
